WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging application owned by Meta, is introducing an exciting feature called video messages in its latest beta updates. This new addition enables both IOS and Android users to share brief videos lasting up to 60 seconds with fellow users.  As reported by WABetaInfo, this new addition empowers beta users to effortlessly record and share video messages within their conversations.

By long-pressing the microphone button in the chat bar, it transforms into a video camera icon, granting users the ability to conveniently record and send video messages directly. This new addition enables both IOS and Android users to share brief videos lasting up to 60 seconds with fellow users.

At present, the video messaging feature is in the testing phase and is limited to a select group of beta testers. WhatsApp has announced that it will progressively expand access to this feature in the upcoming weeks. Users will only be able to send video messages to other beta users who have also updated their app to the latest version.

To ensure authenticity, WhatsApp has implemented a noteworthy feature that enables recipients to discern whether a video message has been freshly recorded. This functionality proves valuable in distinguishing between pre-recorded videos and real-time messages, providing users with confidence in the authenticity of the content they receive.
