The first international flight will land at Maharana Pratap Airport, Dabok today.
Flights from Kuwait under the Vande Bharat Mission will land in Udaipur as the AAI has made arrangements for immigration and Passport control at Dabok Airport. Migrant passengers flying in from Kuwait will no longer have to rely on Jaipur or Ahmedabad to bring them home.
ADM Administration, OP Bunkar, in his address to media said that 10 flights will be flying in approximately 1700 migrants from Kuwait, who belong to the Mewar region. Collector Anandi and SP Bishnoi have done the necessary protocol checks to ensure that the passengers are brought in safely and with proper checks in place. Immigration, custom and passport control will be taken care of by the government.
Nandita Bhatt, Airport Director, said that all necessary arrangements are in place to ensure safe passage for the migrant passengers from Kuwait who will begin to land at Dabok airport from today onwards.
Earlier, on Monday, Divisional Commissioner Vikas Bhale chaired a meeting of officials from the Airport authority, Maharana Pratap Airport, District Administration and CISF. The meeting was held to review and optimize the landing of international flights, custom checks, security at airport, comprehensive testing of the passengers, quarantine facilities, etc.
