Indian Railways is all set to gift its travellers with 8 new special trains in 2021. These new trains will prove to be quite beneficial for travellers who commute regularly between Udaipur, Indore, Dahod, Jamnagar, Bandra terminal and Gandhidham. Some of the sectors have already begun.
The new trains to begin are Indore-Udaipur-Dahod and Dahod-Bhopal-Dahod. Apart from these special trains will be started from Gandhidham, Jamnagar and Bandra terminal. Dahod-Bhopal began on 28th December, Jaipur-Bhopal began on 29th December and Udaipur-Indore also began on 29th December.
Katra-Bandra-Vaishno Devi Katra special began today, 30th December, whereas Gandhidham-Vaishno Devi Katra special will begin on 31st December. Katra-Jamnagar special will begin operating on 3rd January, Hapa-Vaishno Devi katra will begin on 4th January. These trains will continue until further notice.
Indian Railways also said that the clone train experiment that they had tried has proved to be successful, and these clone trains will operate even post covid. The occupancy of these trains is around 70 to 80 percent and these clone trains run on routes with waiting list more than 150 percent. Since the experiment has shown good results, these will be continued, as stated by Indian Railways.
