French tourist, Phillipine Tresca Marie got a welcome call from Shikha Saxena, Deputy Director, Regional Tourism Office, Udaipur who informed that her Passport with Visa as well as Bank cards had been found.
Tresca, who is on a trip to India, had lost these important documents while she was in Udaipur recently. These documents were found lying on the road by a passerby, who handed over the documents to his known Mahendra Singh Chundawat, who works in the Forest Department. Mahendra, in turn, handed over the documents to Shikha in the Tourism Department office at Udaipur.
Taking the matter into her own hands, Shikha connected with the CID Office in Udaipur, got her hotel details and found that the tourist had checked out and taken a few days at a horse riding camp in Udaipur. On connecting with the farm, she got to connect with Shikha through her agent and confirmed the identity of Phillipine Tresca with the French Consulate in Delhi, who told her that an application for urgent duplicate exit visa had been received by the consulate under the same name.
Shikha then connected again with Tresca and send her photos of the passport and card. Since sending these important document through courier carried a risk of loss in transit, she asked for an alternative method of getting the documents through to the tourist. Fortunately two of her co-travellers were still in Udaipur and were headed for Delhi. Shikha verified the co-travellers with Tresca and took a written confirmation from Tresca and handed over Tresca’s documents in person to her co-travellers in Udaipur.
