The post COVID lockdown growth in tourism in the City of Lakes continues, with October breaking all the previous records in terms of tourists in Udaipur. The city, which is a global favorite destination boasting of lakes, ghats, luxury hotels, historical structures including palaces and temples and a variety of tourist attractions,saw its tourism footfall touch unprecedented numbers in October 2022, which is arguably the first month that triggers winter tourism in Mewar. In the month of October Udaipur received 200500 domestic visitors. There were 8275 foreign tourists with work visas and business visas.

About 15% of Rajasthan's GDP is derived from tourism, which also supports the state economically by generating foreign exchange, enhancing regional infrastructure, and promoting regional handicrafts. The entire tourism ecosystem in the region is witnessing robust and exponential growth after taking its worst beating in the COVID lockdown.

In September 2022, there were 97700 domestic visitors who traveled to the city, while 4,413 arrived on business or job visas.

24 flights are operating from Udaipur airport during the 5 month winter schedule. Bangalore, Bhopal, Delhi,Kolkata, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Mumbai have direct connections with Udaipur. There will be  9 flights between Udaipur and Delhi, of which 4 will be operated by Indigo, 2 each by Vistara and Spice Jet and 1 by Air India. Mumbai will be connected by 7 flights, of which 3 will be operated by Vistara, 2 by Indigo and 1flight each by Spice Jet and Air India. 2 flights will operate for Jaipur and Bangalore, which1 flight each for Hyderabad, Bhopal, Ahmedabad and Kolkatta. The flight to Bhopal will run three days a week on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday and for Kolkata on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
