Indian Railways has announced significant improvements to the train service operating between Kota and Udaipur via Asarwa (Ahmedabad), effective from July 12, 2024. Five additional coaches, including general, sleeper, and AC classes, have been added to accommodate growing passenger demand.
Additional Coaches
The train, which runs twice a week, departs from Kota to Asarwa on Fridays and Tuesdays, and returns from Asarwa to Kota on Saturdays and Wednesdays. New additions include 2 second class ordinary coaches, 1 third AC, 1 second AC, and 1 first AC compartment, increasing the total number of coaches to 22. This includes facilities such as 1 First AC, 2 Second AC, 5 Third AC, 1 Third AC Economy, 7 Sleeper, and 4 Second Class Ordinary coaches, along with dedicated coaches for train staff.
Passengers travelling from Udaipur to Ahmedabad will benefit from easier availability of confirmed tickets, facilitated by the addition of coaches and a scheduled 25-minute halt at Udaipur City station.
Ticket Booking Timings
In a move to enhance passenger convenience, Indian Railways has adjusted ticket booking times at facilitation centers. The counters for AC coaches will now open at 10:10 AM, five minutes earlier than before. Similarly, non-AC coach counters will open at 11:10 AM instead of 11:15 AM. For advance reservations, which can be made 120 days prior to travel, booking counters will open at 8:10 AM instead of 8:15 AM.
The ticket facilitation center IRCTC, operated by Indian Railways, is located at Bhopalpura in Udaipur.
