Winter Schedule to start at Udaipur Airport from October 27
The winter schedule at Maharana Pratap Airport in Udaipur will begin on October 27, 2024. With the Diwali festival and tourism season approaching, flight ticket prices are expected to rise sharply. Flights from Udaipur to cities like Jaipur, Delhi, Mumbai, Bhopal, Indore, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru will see price increases between October 27 and November 3. Aviation experts note that as bookings increase, ticket prices tend to rise. The winter schedule will be in effect until March 29 of next year.
Fare Hike Expected
Airfares may increase by up to 100%. Normally, the fare between Udaipur and Jaipur ranges from Rs 5,000/- to Rs 8,000/-. By October 10, it had risen to Rs 6,500/- to Rs 10,000/-. From October 27 to November 3, it is expected to go up to Rs 10,000/- to Rs 18,000/-.
Similarly, Udaipur to Delhi fares usually range from Rs 5,500/- to Rs 8,000/-, but they have now increased to Rs 6,500/- to Rs 9,500/-.
Diwali Impact
During Diwali, Udaipur to Mumbai fares, which usually range from Rs 5,500/- to Rs 8,000/-, have already risen to Rs 6,500/- to Rs 10,000/-. By Diwali, fares are expected to climb to Rs 11,000/- to Rs 16,500/-.
This year, Dhanteras is on October 29, Roop Chaudas on October 30, and Diwali will be celebrated on either October 31 or November 1. Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj will follow.
More Flights in Winter Schedule
Aviation expert Ashok Joshi mentioned that under the winter schedule, 28 flights to 8 cities will operate from Udaipur Airport starting October 27. Last year, 27 flights to 10 cities were included in the winter schedule, and fares also rose by up to 100% during Diwali.
Increased Tourism Expected
With the tourism season starting, fares for flights to Jaipur, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Bhopal, and Indore have already increased. More tourists are expected during Diwali, and many people from other cities and countries will visit the Mewar-Vagad region.
High Demand from Locals
Many students and professionals from Udaipur, Rajsamand, Pratapgarh, Dungarpur, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Bhilwara, and Sirohi live in cities like Jaipur, Delhi, and Mumbai. People living in Gulf countries and other foreign nations also return during this time. Due to the high demand, a decrease in airfares from Udaipur to Delhi, Mumbai, and Jaipur is unlikely.
