Ajmer Railway Division Enhances Passenger Amenities
North Western Railway’s Ajmer Division upgrades platforms, shelters and facilities across stations for safer and more comfortable travel
Udaipur, Dec 2, 2025 - North Western Railway’s Ajmer Division is consistently upgrading passenger amenities across its stations. Under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Raju Bhutada, major works such as platform extension, increasing platform height and installation or expansion of platform shelters are being carried out. These improvements aim to enhance passenger convenience during boarding, deboarding and waiting for trains.
Considering the continuous addition of coaches in long-distance trains, platform lengths are being increased to ensure smooth boarding and alighting. At small and large stations alike, rail-level and medium-level platforms are being raised to high-level standards to facilitate easier movement for senior citizens, persons with disabilities and women. New platform shelters are also being installed or expanded at several stations.
At Ajmer, Udaipur, Kharwa Chanda, Piplaj and Moribera stations, platform expansion and conversion of rail-level/medium-level platforms into high-level ones are being executed at a cost of approximately Rs 38 crore.
Additionally, in Ajmer division at 14 stations - including Ajmer, Beawar, Marwar Junction, Somesar, Falna, Jawai Bandh, Dungarpur, Mavli and Bhilwara - full-length platform shelters are being installed at a cost of Rs 113 crore.
