IRCTC has made a gross change in their online train reservation system. As per this amendment, only one TATKAL booking is allowed on one user-ID. For booking more TATKAL tickets, an individual needs to re-log into his user-ID at IRCTC.

Earlier, there was a facility of booking 2 tickets per day through one user-ID for TATKAL booking between 10 a.m. to 12 noon. As per latest information received, only one TATKAL ticket can be booked in one day. Not more than 6 bookings per month can be made through one user-ID for TATKAL tickets. This amendment has been made to do away with the functioning of brokers or agents and is likely to create transparency in online rail reservation systems hence avoiding misuse of TATKAL reservation systems.
