Udaipur Wins 'Best Wedding Destination' Award

Udaipur, Nov 24, 2025 - Udaipur, has once again showcased its unmatched charm to the world by winning the prestigious title of “Best Wedding Destination” given by Outlook Traveller Awards 2025. The announcement was made during a grand ceremony held at Hyatt Regency, New Delhi.

This honour was presented by Sikkim’s Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, TT Bhutia, to Anand Tripathi, Additional Director of Rajasthan Tourism, and Sumita Saroch, Joint Director of Udaipur Tourism Department.

Rajasthan has always been the top choice for destination weddings, and Udaipur is particularly a favourite with its palaces, lakes, heritage havelis and Mewar elegance. The recent wedding in the city of the daughter of billionaire American pharma king Rama Raju Mantena is a testimony to this fact. The ceremony, from November 21 to 23, was attended by the who’s who of the world of politics and showbiz. Prominent among the guests were Donald Trump Jr., Jennifer Lopez, Madhuri Dixit, Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Kirti Sanon.

Rajasthan’s Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Diya Kumari has described the award as a symbol of Rajasthan’s cultural prosperity, saying: “Rajasthan has always been the best host for ceremonies that unite hearts. Over 70% of India’s heritage properties are located here. Our havelis, forts, and palaces are not just structures — they are the living soul of Rajasthan.”

She added that more than 120 heritage venues in the State regularly host destination weddings, significantly contributing to Rajasthan becoming a wedding hub for both India and the world.

Rukmani Riar, Commissioner of Tourism in Rajasthan, said that under the leadership of Diya Kumari, the Tourism Department is ready to reach new heights in wedding, wellness, and adventure tourism.

Udaipur was judged the winner by an expert panel after extensive evaluation across several parameters. The jury included Jyoti Mayal, Anubhav Sapra, Col. Ranveer Singh Jamwal, Dr Navina Jafa, Dr Latika Nath and Anindita Ghosh (Jury Chair).

The award ceremony began with captivating cultural performances. Prominent representatives from the tourism industry, travel experts and institutions from across the country were present in large numbers.

Experts say this recognition couldn’t have come at a better time. With Rajasthan fast emerging as a powerhouse for film shoots, mega events, and luxury weddings, the award delivers a big boost to the State’s brand value — opening doors to greater global attention and high-value investments.
