Udaipur, March 15, 2025 - Banswara, known as the "City of Hundred Islands," has beautiful landscapes with vast waters, green islands, and tribal youth rowing boats. Though it has great tourism potential, it remains largely unexplored. During the wedding season (December-January), couples from Gujarat, Jaipur, Delhi, and Maharashtra visit for pre-wedding shoots.
This region in South Rajasthan may not have Maldives-style water villas, scuba diving, or snorkeling, but its natural beauty is no less mesmerizing. The Mahi Dam, its backwaters, and the lush green surroundings make it a stunning destination. Chachakota and areas near Maharana Pratap Bridge are perfect spots for visitors. Chachakota is just 15 km from Banswara city, making it easily accessible.
"If the government develops basic facilities and promotes tourism, more visitors will come, and job opportunities will increase." - Sunil Dindor, Boatman, Ala Baroda
Tourists can enjoy the region more if proper roads, food facilities, and basic amenities are developed. Water sports activities like boating and kayaking can attract more visitors.
Monsoon (July to September): When the natural beauty is at its peak.
Winter (November to February): Best for trekking and camping.
