Inaugural Bharat Gaurav Train Starts for Ayodhya from Udaipur

IRCTC Bharat Gaurav Train

The much-anticipated inaugural phase of the Bharat Gaurav Train for Ayodhya, organized under the Senior Citizen Pilgrimage Scheme, started on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. The train began its maiden pilgrimage journey for 580 passengers, all senior citizens at 10:10am on 14 February from Rana Pratap Station, Udaipur.

Over the course of a six-day pilgrimage, the train will traverse through the divine landscapes of Ayodhya, Haridwar and Rishikesh, offering pilgrims a soul-enriching experience. Notably, 100 passengers each from Ajmer and Jaipur are also part of this serene journey, with boarding points exclusively designated at Udaipur, Ajmer, and Jaipur stations.

Scheduled to reach Gonda Junction in Uttar Pradesh at 10:30 a.m. on February 15, 2024, the pilgrims will then be seamlessly transported to the sacred city of Ayodhya. The distance between Gonda and Ayodhya is approximately 50 kilometers, ensuring a smooth transition for the pilgrims. With one day stay, the train will again depart from Gonda station on February 16, 2024 at 6:00 PM and will reach Haridwar on February 17, 2024 at 6:20 AM. The train will depart from Haridwar station on February 18, 2024 at 10:30 PM and reach Rana Pratap Station at February 19 at 9:05 PM. 

Senior citizens travelling on this pilgrimage are entitled to enjoy the trip free of charge, with the Devasthan Department graciously covering all expenses related to food, beverages and accommodation. Passengers were selected through a fair lottery system, ensuring inclusivity and equal opportunity for all.

The Bharat Gaurav Train comprises 14 LHB coaches, including 1 AC coach and 10 sleeper coaches, ensuring comfort and convenience throughout the journey. Additionally, three extra coaches have been designated for railway use, housing essential facilities such as the pantry and power coaches.

Ensuring the well-being of passengers, each coach will be supervised by two government employees from the temple department, one trained supervisor, one medical doctor, and two medical personnel.

The seamless operation of the Bharat Gaurav Train will be facilitated by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), ensuring efficient management and logistical support at every stage of the journey.

Upcoming Spiritual Journeys

Following the conclusion of this sacred journey, the journey continues with the India Pride Train scheduled for Tirupati Balaji on February 20 and 29, 2024. Additionally, another spiritually enriching journey to Ayodhya is fixed for February 28, 2024.
