Bus Travel Gets Costlier; Fares Hiked by up to 10%

The State Transport Department has permitted a fare hike of 10% to 30% for various categories of stage carriage buses

Udaipur, Aug 6, 2025 – The State Transport Department yesterday, August 5, permitted a fare hike of 10% to 30% for various categories of stage carriage buses. Following this, the Roadways Department has started the process of increasing fares and will implement up to a 10% hike in bus fares.

With the fare increase, the Volvo fare on the Jaipur-Delhi Express route will rise from Rs 790 to Rs 870. The fare for AC Deluxe buses on the expressway route will increase from Rs 640 to Rs 707. Along with this, fares for ordinary, deluxe and express buses will also increase by 10%.

Order for Revised Fares:

  • Ordinary buses can now charge Rs 0.95 per kilometre per passenger.
  • Express/Mail buses can charge Rs 1 per kilometre.
  • Semi-deluxe buses can charge Rs 1.10 per kilometre.
  • Deluxe buses can charge Rs 1.70 per kilometre.
  • AC buses can charge up to Rs 2.50 per kilometre per passenger.

Additionally, for a minimum distance of 5 km, the fare for adult passengers will be Rs 5, and for children, it will be Rs 2.50.
