Call for 4 New Train Services from Udaipur

Udaipur, Sept 5, 2026 - The Udaipur Hotel Association has written to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw urging for the expansion of rail connectivity from Udaipur to major cities in India. The association has requested the operation of four trains connecting Udaipur with Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Katra (Jammu).

Udaipur-Delhi Vande Bharat

A new Vande Bharat Express between Udaipur and Delhi has been requested. Currently, only two trains - the Mewar Express and Chetak Express - operate between Udaipur and Delhi.

Udaipur–Mumbai Daily

There is a call for a daily Udaipur–Mumbai train via Ahmedabad. The only train currently connecting Udaipur with Mumbai is the Udaipur–Bandra Terminus Express which operates only three days a week and travels via Ratlam, which adds approximately four hours to the journey.

Extension of Navjeevan Express

A request has also been made to extend the Navjeevan Express up to Udaipur. This train currently operates between Chennai and Ahmedabad. Extending the train to Udaipur would provide the city with direct rail connectivity to South India.

Extension of Pooja/Galta Dham Express

The association has also called for the extension of the Pooja/Galta Dham Express to Udaipur. It currently runs from Ajmer to Katra (Shri Mata Vaishno Devi) in Jammu. The proposed extension would improve direct connectivity between Udaipur and Katra, an important pilgrimage destination.
