Udaipur, December 7, 2024 – Rajya Sabha MP Chunnilal Garasiya has raised the issue of train stoppages at Rishabhdev and Bichhiwada railway stations. He said that owing to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the railway track between Udaipur and Asarwa (Ahmedabad) has been converted to broad gauge and new trains have been introduced on this route.

New trains on this route include Train No. 12981 (Jaipur-Asarwa), Train No. 12982 (Asarwa-Jaipur), Train No. 19821 (Kota-Asarwa), and Train No. 19822 (Asarwa-Kota).

This railway route passes through two key stations - Rishabhdev and Bichhiwada, the first major railway station after entering Gujarat. Rishabhdev is a popular destination for pilgrims from all over the country to the Rishabhdev Temple. Bichhiwada is near the Gujarat border and also a major industrial area, with National Highway 48 passing through this subdivision.

Thousands of passengers travel through these stations every year, said the MP.  However, despite this, no halt has been provided for Train Nos. 12981, 12982, 19821, and 19822 at Rishabhdev and Bichhiwada railway stations.

MP Garasiya urged providing stoppages at these stations which would benefit thousands of travellers.
