Curb the Issues to Retain the Label of Tourism City-Udaipur

Udaipur is labeled as ‘One of the Most Visited City by Tourists in India’, but administration will have to do something about the increased number of issues which should be addressed at earliest to retain this tag.

As reported by a local news media, the number of tourists visiting the city has increased by 20% from the last year, still there are many things being overlooked by the tourism administration and other responsible position holders.

• There is no parking zone for allotted vehicles at Saheliyon ki Bari. In such a situation, tourists/localites park their vehicle anywhere on the road which results in traffic jam and sometimes even collisions.

• There is no drinking water tap, clean public toilets or information board for tourists/localites at FatehSagar lake. Vibhuti park is not maintained and there is no drainage system for stalls at Mumbaiya Market.

• There is no where to get information on projects like Shaheed Smarak or Pannadhay Dirgah in the city. There is no way for tourists to obtain information on these lesser known unique projects.

• No proper parking space or management at places like Badi and Shilpgram. Gajendra Bhansali of Handicraft Association says, “Tourism department and Administration should work together to solve these issues. If done so, these can be sorted out in much lesser time. Also, it is important to identify problem faced by tourists during peak seasons.”

ADM City, Chhoga Ram Devasi, said, “Parking is the major issue for which concerned departments have been issued orders to work on it.”

Speaking on the topic of providing information, Sunita Saroch, DD, Tourism Dept. said, “With the help of association, we will be working on providing all the necessary information on the tourism website.”
