Udaipur Airport: In April this year, Maharana Pratap Airport in Udaipur experienced a decline in air travel, with a decrease in passenger traffic compared to the previous month. According to recent statistics released by the Udaipur Airport administration, 101,522 passengers travelled in April, whereas March saw the highest number of passengers at 50,200. This marks a significant decrease of 49,474 passengers.
Additionally, the aircraft movement at Udaipur Airport also witnessed a decline in April, with 1,102 movements recorded compared to 1,354 in March. Experts attribute this reduction in flights to the transition to the summer schedule.
One of the primary reasons cited by experts for the decline in passenger traffic is the prevalence of school exams in April. With students and families focused on academic commitments, leisure travel has seen a decrease during this period.
However, with the anticipation of holidays in May and June, there is optimism for a potential increase in passenger traffic during the upcoming months.
Presently, Udaipur Airport facilitates 22 flights to major destinations including Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, Bhopal, Indore, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Ahmedabad, providing connectivity across the region.
