Udaipur, December 20,2024 - The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is a big project that will make travel between Delhi and Dehradun much faster. It is expected to be finished by January 2025 by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) , cutting the travel time from 6.5 hours to just 2.5 hours.

The expressway will have 6 to 12 lanes and will include rest stops every 25-30 miles. It will also have over 110 underpasses, 5 rail overbridges, and 4 big bridges.

This 210-kilometer road will pass through towns like Baghpat, Shamli, and Saharanpur. It is part of a bigger plan called Bharatmala Pariyojana, which aims to improve India’s roads.

The project is being built in four parts. The first part, a 32 km stretch from Baghpat to Akshardham Temple, is already done. The second part, from Baghpat to Saharanpur, is the longest (118 km) and is still being built but parts are open now.

The third part will connect Saharanpur to Ganeshpur, and the last part will link Rajaji National Park to Dehradun, with a 12-kilometer elevated corridor to protect wildlife.

The expressway will charge a toll based on distance, but the first 18 kilometers from Akshardham Temple to Loni will be free. The road will be safer and faster with a speed limit of 100 km/h. It will help local businesses and tourism grow, boosting the economy.
