Facility will also include Udaipur City Railway Station

Starting from  April 2024, passengers traveling through Ajmer division, including Udaipur, can rejoice as digital payment facilities will be accessible at all railway stations. This move aims to eliminate the need for cash transactions when purchasing tickets, streamlining the process and enhancing convenience for travelers.

Until now, ticket purchases at most stations within the division were predominantly cash-based, posing challenges for both passengers and staff. However, with the introduction of online payment systems, passengers can now easily purchase tickets online, reducing the hassle of carrying cash.

Udaipur City Station has already taken a step forward by providing digital payment facilities at reservation counters, luggage rooms, refreshment rooms, parking and vendor stalls. The transition to digital payments at booking counters will not only benefit travelers but also streamline cash handling for railway staff.

To facilitate digital payments, QR codes will be implemented at all stations by March 31, 2024. Currently, digital payment options such as UPI (Paytm, Google Pay, PhonePe) are available at 38 stations, allowing passengers to make payments seamlessly at unreserved ticket counters.

The Center for Railway Information System is actively generating QR codes at counters to facilitate digital transactions, with staff undergoing training to ensure smooth implementation. Additionally, Ticket Checking Staff will utilize handheld devices equipped with QR code scanners to collect fines from passengers without tickets, further promoting digital transactions at stations.
