Udaipur to Get Double-Decker e-Buses for Tourists
Udaipur, Jaipur and Jodhpur to get tourist e-buses; routes to be connected with airports, railway stations and major attractions
Udaipur, Dec 29, 2025 – Udaipur will see the launch of double-decker electric buses for tourists starting next year. The State Government has plans to also introduce these buses in two other prominent tourist destinations in Rajasthan – Jaipur and Jodhpur apart from Udaipur.
The operation of these double-decker electric buses will commence within the next six months.
Under the project, 30 buses will operate in Jaipur, while 10 buses each will be deployed in Udaipur and Jodhpur. The routes of these buses will be connected to major tourist destinations within the cities. Once a ticket is purchased, tourists will be able to travel unlimited throughout the day.
The routes will also be linked to airports, railway stations and bus terminals, ensuring easy access for tourists visiting the cities.
The buses have successfully completed testing in Pune and trials are likely to begin in Jaipur in January. In Jaipur, the service will be operated by Jaipur City Transport Services Limited (JCTSL).
This will be the first time double-decker buses are introduced in Rajasthan’s public transport system. Earlier, in 2013, JCTSL had launched the Jaipur Darshan bus service for tourists, but the project was discontinued owing to low passenger turnout.
