Night Stay in Jungle: Ecotourism in Udaipur from Aug. 13

Udaipur, Aug 7, 2025 - The Udaipur Forest Department will launch a forest excursion programme from August 13 to August 29 in order to promote ecotourism during the monsoon season. Tourists will be taken to six different wildlife sanctuaries, and for the first time, overnight stay in the forest will be permitted. Until now, ecotours were conducted only during the daytime, with tourists returning to the city by evening.

Changes have been made this year to both destinations and amenities, under the instructions of Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) Sendu Ram Yadav. More particularly, the Menal Waterfall has been included in the itinerary for the first time.

The tour packages will range in price from Rs 1,845 to Rs 4,950 per tourist.

This year’s tours will include destinations such as Phulwari ki Naal, Sita Mata, Bassi, Todgarh-Raoli Sanctuary, Jaisamand, Baghdara and Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuaries.

The eco-tour destinations will also cover scenic spots like Goram Ghat waterfall, Bheel Beri waterfall apart from Menal waterfall.

Now, both tourists and locals can book single-day or two-day-one-night eco-tour packages. The tour cost will include travel, breakfast, lunch, evening tea, dinner, entry fees, safari, etc. At places like Ranakpur, open jeep safaris will be organised.

Ecotour coordinator Sharad Agrawal said that areas like Sita Mata, Ranakpur and Jaisamand are more suitable for trekking and will be included in the tour after September.
