Passenger train operations with an electric engine are expected to start soon between Udaipur and Ahmedabad
Udaipur, January 8, 2025 - Railway authorities conducted a trial of electric power on the Udaipur-Ahmedabad train track on January 6 midnight. A distance of 211 kilometres was covered in just 2.51 hours.
According to sources, the electric power was dispatched from Udaipur to Himmatnagar at 10:52 pm and it reached Himmatnagar at 1:43 am. Similarly, it departed from Himmatnagar at 2:05 am and arrived in Udaipur at 5:46 am. On the return journey, halts were made at some stations.
It may be noted that the CRS inspection from Shamlaji to Himmatnagar was completed last month. Therefore, passenger train operations with an electric engine are expected to start soon on the Udaipur-Ahmedabad track.
The loop line work at Kapasan railway station has also been completed so now three tracks are operational at the station. This will allow train crossings and parking at the station.
