Indian Railways will launch a double-decker AC train in July for high demand routes like New Delhi-Lucknow. The Utkrisht Double-Decker Yatri Express or the Uday Express will only have comfortable reclining chairs. Each coach will have a seating capacity of 120 passengers who will not only enjoy the benefit of hot food but also avail the benefit of beverage vending machines. The train will have 40 percent more carrying capacity than other trains.

The fare of this special double-decker train will be less than that of 3 AC class but will provide more comforts and benefits. Each coach will be equipped with a large LCD screen and passengers will hear the sound through the Wi-Fi connected headphones provided at their seats.

The train will not have any sleeper berths but there will be enough leg space to make the journey comfortable. The interiors will have a modern look and all coaches will have bio-toilets.

This is certainly going to be an exciting addition for those who love to travel by train. With all modern comforts and better amenities, this special double-decker train on Delhi-Lucknow route is likely to attract more and more people towards Indian Railways. Since the tariff is planned to be conveniently affordable, it will prove to be an encouraging effort for Indian Railways and this will also lessen traffic on the road route between these two cities.
