Despite the presence of soaring Aravali Mountain Ranges and dense forests of Sajjan Garh, Kumbhal Garh, serene Lakes and bulk of tourists visiting Udaipur every year nobody ever concentrated on one very essential part of tourism which is called Adventure Tourism. Being India’s one of the major Tourist Hub sadly there is nothing seriously ever happened in the field of Adventure Tourism in Udaipur.

But luckily The Forest Department of Udaipur has taken an initiative in promoting Adventure Tourism. They are organizing Eco-trekking camps on weekends since last few months. It is an exploratory tour in various wildlife sanctuaries in southern aravalis. It is an opportunity to learn from nature and to live with it.

A very nominal amount of Rs 10 is a fees for Indian and Rs 80 is for foreign citizens will be charged (amount will be doubled from October 2010). Individual should bear his/her travelling and dine on his own. An eco-guide will be provided by the department for escorting and directing the group. Being member of local community and familiar with local dialect and traditions, he will explain about the ethnic culture and peculiarity of the area.

All those who are interested in painting, photography, bird watching, flora, fauna, biodiversity, the local culture and heritage are also welcomed in the group. The best time for such outings is when the rainy season will be on end i.e. from mid September to October.
