AC and non-AC classes see per km fare increase; Vande Bharat, Rajdhani, Shatabdi also included in new rates
Udaipur, July 2, 2025 - There has been a fare hike for around 20 trains from Udaipur effective July 1. This increase was as per an announcement made by the Railway Ministry recently to impose a marginal fare hike on train fares across India in order to boost revenue.
Passengers traveling on around 20 Superfast, Mail and Express trains from Udaipur will now have to pay higher fares .
There is no increase in fares for journeys up to 500 km in the General category. For distances between 501 and 1500 kms, the fare has been increased by Rs 5; for 1501 to 2500 kms, by Rs 10; and for 2501 to 3000 kms, by Rs 15.
In Superfast, Mail and Express trains, the fare has been increased by 1 paisa per km for non-AC classes and by 2 paise per km for AC classes. This new change applies to all trains including Vande Bharat, Rajdhani and Shatabdi.
However, the new fares will not apply to local trains such as those between Badi Sadri, Chittorgarh and Neemuch-Mandsaur as these are all non-AC trains.
