FASTag Compulsory at Mumbai Highways

Udaipur, March 15, 2025 - Starting April 1, 2025, it will be mandatory to pay toll through FASTag at all toll plazas operated by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC). Motorists who do not use FASTag will have to pay double the toll if they choose to pay by cash, card, or UPI.

MSRDC manages five main entry points to Mumbai including Dahisar, Mulund West, Mulund East, Airoli, and Vashi. However, light motor vehicles, State Transport buses, and school buses are exempted from toll at these points.

Apart from Mumbai’s entry points, other toll plazas under MSRDC where FASTag will be compulsory include

  • Bandra-Worli Sea Link

  • Mumbai-Pune Expressway

  • Old Mumbai-Pune Highway

  • Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Expressway

  • Nagpur Integrated Road Development Project

  • Solapur Integrated Road Development Project

  • Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar Integrated Road Development Project

  • Katol Bypass

  • Chimur-Warora-Vani Highway

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) made FASTag compulsory on all its toll plazas from February 16, 2021. Currently, NHAI collects toll on about 45,000 km of highways at 1,000 toll plazas across India.

Motorists are advised to install and recharge their FASTag to avoid paying extra charges.
