Fish aquarium at Fateh Sagar was inaugurated today morning my State Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria. The 125 metre long aquarium will play host to 156 different species of fishes in the first phase.

Fish aquarium at Fateh Sagar was inaugurated today morning my State Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria. The 125 metre long aquarium will play host to 156 different species of fishes in the first phase.

Kataria carried out the inauguration by unveiling the inauguration plate and cutting the ribbon. Speaking on the occasion, Kataria said that the aquarium will give an additional fillip to tourism in the city and the visitors will leave back with happy memories.

Kataria also said that there will be no shortage of funds and expertise in making the aquarium even better. The aquarium has seen the light of the day due to joint efforts of UIT, UMC and people of Udaipur, said Kataria.

Kataria also raised hopes of completion of work at Vibhuti park. He said that they have received legal clearances for erection of 12 statues at the Vibhuti park and work will soon begin on the same.

Kailash Khandelwal, private developer of the aquarium, said that work on the aquarium took 4 months to complete. He said that second phase of the aquarium will see digital world and a cafetaria.

UIT has spent Rs 2 crore in construction of the premise and has contracted it out at Rs 2.5 Lakh per month.

The aquarium will be open from 8 am till 11 pm.
