Restrictions are needed on public transport even after 3rd May.

The Covid 19 team of ministers expressed their views on the operations of trains and flights after 3rd May. Lockdown is likely to be lifted by the 3rd of May and if these means of transport namely trains and flights start operating immediately, the virus is sure to spread at a greater speed as social distancing will then be at bay.

Chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath, 5th meeting of Covid19 team was held on Saturday and public transport was the major point of discussion. The report of the meeting has been sent to PM Modi.

With all this going on at the ministry level, it has also come to notice that some of the private airlines were constantly engaged in booking tickets. They did not pay heed to the directives issued by Aviation Minister Hardip Singh and booked airline tickets on the entire day of Sunday for travels post 3rd May. It has also been informed that only a few tickets were booked. The airline officials said that the directives issue by the Ministry of Aviation were not clear.

DGCA had issued a circular to the airline companies post which Air India stopped all bookings. All the airline companies have been instructed not to book any air tickets till government takes some decision on it. But some private companies continued and stopped only after internal orders were circulated.
