Aviation minister Jayant Sinha today announced Udaipur-Dubai flight to much surprise of all. This international flight will start from October this year. As of now the flight route is Udaipur-Jaipur-Dubai. Depending on the traffic load from Udaipur, a direct flight might be started later.

The Udaipur-Dubai flight will prove to be a boon for the employment seeking people. For those who seek employment and those who are working in Gulf countries, this flight is the most sought after flight for Udaipur public.

Jayant Sinha said that 12 flights take off daily from Udaipur. With the increase in air traffic from Udaipur, flight numbers will be increased to 23. Direct flights will operate to Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai connecting Udaipur directly with South India. Udaipur is considered to be one of the successful airports of the country. Air traffic from Udaipur has increased in the last three years. Every year an increase of 30 to 40 percent has been noticed in Udaipur’s air traffic. In the year 2014-2015, Udaipur airport saw 4 lakh 60 thousand passengers which went to 7 lakh in the year 2015-2016. Udaipur is one of the most important places in the tourist map of India. The numbers of passengers taking air routes from Udaipur increased to 11 lakh in the year 2016-2017.

With the addition of Udaipur-Dubai flight, the numbers will increase further since there are a lot of people in the city who fly to Dubai. Until now they had no option but to travel to Ahmedabad by road to take the flight to Dubai. With the absence of flight from Udaipur to Dubai, flying passengers also take trains or buses to Jaipur and Delhi as well.
