Foreign Tourists expected to augment Tourism business in Udaipur this winter - Foreign Tourism opens up

Foreign Nationals intending to visit India for tourism purposes will be allowed to enter into India on e-Tourist Visa / Tourist Visa through Chartered Flights (for Group Tourism only) from October 15, 2021.

Entry permits for Foreign Nationals travelling for tourism will be granted for a maximum of 30 days

The number of domestic tourists coming in to Udaipur this year after the relaxation of travel post the second COVID wave has resulted in breaking records of sorts. The recent permission to allow Foreign Tourists into the county signals a fairly healthy winter season for the tourism industry of Udaipur.

With the Office Memorandum of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Foreigners Division), Government of India giving a green signal to entry of Foreigners on Tourist Visa, Udaipur Tourism is expected to witness a surge, albeit with caution.

During the period 2016-19, the average volume of Foreign Tourists in Udaipur was 18%. However, in the years preceding 2016, it was 21%, the highest being 24% in 2012.

The office order from the Ministry has permitted that all Foreign Nationals intending to visit India for tourism purposes will be allowed to enter into India on e-Tourist Visa / Tourist Visa through Chartered Flights (for Group Tourism only) from October 15, 2021.

Additionally, all individual foreign nationals intending to visit India for tourism purposes will be allowed to enter India on e-Tourist Visa/Tourist Visa with effect from November 15, 2021 on regular flights under Vande Bharat Mission or Air Bubble Scheme or by any scheduled / non-scheduled commercial flights as permitted by the Ministry of Civil Aviation time and again as per COVID situation and protocol.

In no case will land travel be permitted for foreign tourists to enter India in the current circumstances.

The allowances will only be applicable to Tourist Visas / e-Tourist Visas issued after October 6, 2021.

While Tourist Visas / e-Tourist Visas issued before October 6, 2021 will remain suspended, the Bureau of Immigration / Indian Missions / Posts abroad may grant fresh single entry Visas for upto 30 days.
