Highlights the Tourism Quotient of Udaipur among domestic travellers as well as the need to move out and about after a beleaguered 18 months

The month of August 2021 witnessed an impressive flow of domestic tourists to Udaipur, which was the highest for this month, in the last decade. It is no different in September as well, as the domestic tourist count as per statistics provided by the Regional Tourism Office in Udaipur.

As per the figures provided by the department, 85,940 domestic tourists visited Udaipur in the month of September 2021, which was the highest in the last decade, the last best being 78,815 in 2019, nearly 6 months before the pandemic struck, taking down with it, the fate of tourism sector, albeit temporarily.

The strength of the tourism quotient of Udaipur, coupled with the efforts put in by the Regional Tourism Office at Udaipur with Shikha Saxena, Deputy Director at the helm of the initiatives, ensured that the flustered one and a half years of the tourism industry in Udaipur can be put on the back seat. The monsoons, too, took their time and after a few teasers that kept the region guessing, have left the region after ensure that all the lakes are full and mountains are green and full.

Talking of foreign tourists, the figures for September 2021 were once again in the green, matching those of the pre-COVID years. The inflow of foreign tourists is only restricted by the travel restrictions, which, once eased, is expected to give Udaipur one of its best years as far as tourism is concerned.
