Udaipur roadways earning additional Rs 2 lakh daily
Udaipur, November 11, 2024 - Since Diwali, the passenger load on roadways buses from the Udaipur depot has increased significantly, reaching up to 115 percent of capacity. This increase is largely attributed to the tourism season, which has boosted the number of travellers. Due to the surge, roadways are earning an additional Rs 200,000/- daily.
Rise in Revenue from Extra Passengers
Currently, the Udaipur depot operates 82 buses on various routes. On normal days, around 14,000 passengers travel daily, generating approximately Rs 14 lakh million in revenue. However, with the recent increase in passengers, daily earnings have now reached between Rs 15-16 lakh, as the number of travellers has risen to 16,000–17,000.
With the ongoing tourism season, Udaipur is seeing a large influx of visitors from across the country, many of whom are also using roadways buses for travel, further contributing to the increased passenger load.
Key Routes Covered
Udaipur depot buses serve several major routes, including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Barmer, Kota, Ahmedabad, Surat, Indore, Bhopal, and Haridwar. These routes are witnessing heavy passenger loads due to both tourism and local demand.
Wedding Season to Further Increase Traffic
The passenger load is expected to rise further as the wedding season begins this week. For the next two months, traffic on local and long-distance routes is predicted to remain high. Popular local routes with high traffic include Banswara, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, and Chittorgarh.
