Several airports in India have suspended operations in view of the on-going conflict between India and Pakistan; airlines have announced change in flight schedules
May 7, 2025 – Several airports in India have suspended operations owing to the ongoing situation in the wake of India’s attack on terror camps located within Pakistan and POK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) early this morning. No commercial aircraft activity was detected by flight trackers north of Delhi, which is home to several of the critical airports along the India-Pakistan border.
A majority of the international flights overflying have made route diversion and are steering clear of the Pakistani airspace. These include Emirates, Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, Finnair, Saudia, Air Arabia and Mahan Air. Screenshots from FlightRadar 24 shows there are no active flights on the north-western border of India.

The Bhuj and Rajkot airports will remain closed for civilian aircrafts until May 10.
The Delhi Airport cancelled over 30 flights today with 23 domestic departures and eight arrivals. Additionally, four international departures have also been cancelled.
A SpiceJet advisory said, “Due to ongoing situation, airports in parts of northern India, including Dharamshala (DHM), Leh (IXL), Jammu (IXJ), Srinagar (SXR), and Amritsar (ATQ), are closed until further notice. Departures, arrivals, and consequential flights may be impacted. Passengers are advised to plan their journey accordingly and check flight status at: www.spicejet.com/#statu.”
IndiGo update said, “Flights to/from #Bikaner are also impacted by the current airspace restrictions. We request you to check your flight status before reaching the airport."
Air India message said, “In view of the prevailing situation, Air India has cancelled all its flights to and from the following stations – Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot – till 12 noon on 7 May, pending further updates from authorities. Two international flights en route to Amritsar are being diverted to Delhi. We regret the inconvenience caused due to this unforeseen disruption.”
