As per the 2024 Henley Passport Index, India's passport ranks 82nd, granting its bearers visa-free entry to 58 international destinations.The ranking is based on data sourced from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), known for its thorough and precise database of global travel information. Well-known tourist destinations where visas are not required include Indonesia, the Maldives, and Thailand.

  • Singapore holds the top position globally with the most influential passport, allowing visa-free access to 195 countries. 
  • France, Italy, Germany, Spain, and Japan closely follow in second place, providing visa-free access to 192 destinations each.
  • Austria, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, South Korea, and Sweden jointly rank third, offering visa-free access to 191 countries.
  • In fourth place, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Norway, Belgium, Denmark, and Switzerland provide visa-free entry to 190 destinations.
  • Australia and Portugal are tied for fifth place, offering visa-free access to 189 countries.
  • At present, the United States holds the eighth spot worldwide with unrestricted entry to 186 countries.
