Udaipur, Oct 18, 2025: Indian Railways has approved the Final Location Survey (FLS) for a new railway line connecting Marwar Junction to Deogarh Madaria via Todgarh - Ravali. A sum of Rs 11.75Cr has been approved for this FLS. The proposed rail line will also facilitate rail connectivity between Rajsamand, Udaipur in Mewar to Pali in Marwar and will also provide connectivity between Ahmedabad and Jaipur.

This proposed route will play a significant role in connecting well-known but loosely connected tourist centre of Deogarh-Madaria to Marwar Junction and to the mainstream line. The construction of this new rail line will facilitate rail access to historical and natural tourist destinations like Todgarh and Devgarh. It will also provide new transportation options for trade, agriculture, and local industries. This project is a part of the Special Initiative for Rail Connectivity in Rajasthan undertaken by Union Minister Ashwani Vaishnav, who looks after the Broadcasting, Electronics and Information Technology. This rail line project along with the Rs. 82Cr Nathdwara-Deogarh Madaria rail line will facilitate direct connectivity to the region with major cities across India, including Udaipur, Jaipur, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Mumbai.

Once the FLS is completed for this 72km new line from Marwar Junction - Deogarh Madaria via Todgarh - Rawli, a detailed project reports (DPR) will be prepared based on the financial and technical feasibility of the project and will be sent to the Railway Board for approval.
