No More Waiting for Seats? Railways' New Decision Could Make Confirmations Easier

Now it will be easier to get confirmed seats on mail and express trains. No one will be able to waitlist or RAC your ticket anymore. This is because the Railway Board has taken a historic decision to increase the number of coaches in mail and express trains, which will benefit the passengers.
Initially, more coaches will run in the North Eastern Railway division. Then the same will be done gradually in the rest of the zones. Basically, the North Eastern Railway will soon increase the number of coaches in all trains from 22 to 24 coaches.
Increase during the festive season
This decision has been communicated to all zonal railways through a letter. As a result, all trains of the North Eastern Railway will soon run with 24 coaches instead of 22 coaches. The mechanical department is already preparing for this change. As part of a trial, two additional coaches have been added to train number 20104 LTT Superfast train. Adding two coaches permanently will be a big benefit for the passengers. The festive season is ahead. And during this time, it becomes difficult to get confirmed train tickets. But worry no more. Now you will get seats easily.
What do the railway officials say?
During peak hours, where the waiting list reaches 100-150, it is expected to come down to 20-25. This increase will directly benefit about 160 passengers per train, and the waiting time for AC third class and sleeper coaches will be significantly reduced. In this regard, railway officials have said that except during festive seasons, coaches will be added first in trains that are more crowded throughout the year.
It is to be noted that the waiting time for AC third class is usually 60 to 70 minutes, and for sleeper class it is more than 100 minutes. Adding two coaches will reduce the suffering of passengers to a great extent.
Already, keeping in mind the huge crowd of devotees in Haridwar and Rishikesh on the occasion of Jalabhishek on the last Monday of the 'Saavan' month, the Moradabad Railway Division has taken major steps to ensure a smooth and safe journey for the passengers. Railway authorities have added additional general class coaches in the main trains and have also started running three pairs of Kawar Mela Special trains.
Meanwhile, to relieve the passengers from the extra crowd, railway authorities have arranged additional general coaches in trains Nos. 54481, 54482, 54483, 54484, 54464, 54463, 54342 and 5434.
