The Indian Railways has announced a significant change in its advance booking policy. From November 1, 2024, passengers will only be able to book train tickets 60 days in advance of the train's departure. This is a reduction from the current 120-day advance booking period.

However, there will be no change in the advance booking time for specific day-time express trains, such as the Taj Express and Gomti Express, where shorter time limits are already in place. Additionally, the rule for foreign tourists, which allows them to book tickets 365 days in advance, remains unaffected.

Passengers who have already booked their tickets before November 1 will not be impacted by this new rule. Their bookings will remain valid under the old guidelines.
