The Indian Railways, one of the biggest railway networks in the world, has facilitated the development of a plethora of Apps, that provide features like Ticket Booking, Tracking Trains. Many of its own Apps provide provide scattered services.
This scattered service delivery has prompted the Indian Railways to come up with a single SUPER APP, that will provide all such services and information on a single platform. Announcing the intent, a senior official has informed the TOI that this initiative will enhance the user experience by streamlining services such as consolidated ticket booking, tracking of trains, food, checking PNR status, monitoring availability, etc, thus eliminating the download of multiple Apps. This single Super App will be developed by the CRIS, the IT Arm of the Indian Railways.
As per a report in the Economic Times, this App will combined functionalities of Apps like Rail Madad, National Train Enquiry System, UTS, etc along with incorporating services provided by PortRead, TMS-Nirikshan, Satark and those provided by Apps like IRCTC Rail Connect, IRCTC eCatering, Food On Track, IRCTC Flight Bookings, etc.
