IndiGo Adds Fuel Surcharge; Udaipur Travel to Rise by Over Rs 400
IndiGo introduces a Rs 425 fuel surcharge per sector on new flight bookings owing to rising ATF prices; additional fee will apply to all new bookings made from 12:01 am on March 14
Udaipur, March 14, 2026 - IndiGo airlines has announced the implementation of a fuel surcharge on all new domestic and international flight bookings starting Saturday (March 14) because of a sharp increase in Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices. IndiGo said that it will now impose a fuel surcharge ranging from Rs 426 to Rs 2,300 on its domestic and international flights, depending on the travel distance.
According to the airline, the additional fee will apply to all new bookings made from 12:01 am on Saturday. IndiGo clarified that passengers travelling on domestic flights within India will have to pay an extra Rs 425 per sector. However, the total surcharge will increase for connecting flights or round-trip bookings, as the charge will apply to each sector.
The move will also impact passengers travelling from Udaipur, making air travel slightly more expensive by Rs 400–Rs 500 on an average.
IndiGo surcharge structure will be as follows:
- Rs 425 for domestic flights and flights within the Indian subcontinent
- Rs 900 for flights to West Asia
- Rs 1,800 for flights to Southeast Asia, China, and Africa
- Rs 2,300 for flights to Europe
Earlier, Air India and Air India Express had also introduced a fuel surcharge from March 10, charging an additional Rs 399 per ticket for domestic and SAARC region bookings.
