IndiGo Ranked Among World’s Worst Airlines
December 5,2024 - A report by AirHelp ranked airlines worldwide based on how well they perform in three areas: on-time performance, passenger feedback, and how they handle customer complaints. IndiGo Airlines, a popular airline in India, ranked 103rd out of 109 airlines, making it one of the worst performers. Air India, another Indian airline owned by Tata, ranked 61st—better than IndiGo but still not great.
The best airline in the world was Brussels Airlines, followed by Qatar Airways and United Airlines. The worst airline was Tunisair, which ranked last at 109th.
AirHelp looked at things like customer reviews, how comfortable flights are, cleanliness, food, entertainment, and how well airlines handle complaints. IndiGo didn’t do well in these areas, especially in processing customer complaints.
IndiGo disagrees with the rankings. It says the report doesn’t clearly explain how the data was collected and claims it has a good record for being on time and receiving few complaints compared to its size.
AirHelp collects data from 20,000 passenger reviews from over 54 countries.
Airlines are scored on their cabin crew, food, cleanliness, comfort, and entertainment.
The better an airline handles customer complaints (speed and fairness), the higher its score.
Brussels Airlines scored the highest, especially in handling customer complaints.
Qatar Airways did great in passenger satisfaction but was slightly lower in handling complaints.
