Jaipur-Mumbai Flight Aborted After Fuel Leak Detected
A fuel leak was detected in an Air India aircraft flying from Jaipur to Mumbai just before take-off; passengers safely deplaned
Jan 5, 2026 - A major accident was averted on Saturday (January 3) evening at Jaipur International Airport (JIA) when an aircraft fuel leakage was timely noticed and the take-off was aborted.
As per reports, an Air India AI-622 flight scheduled to depart from Jaipur to Mumbai at 7:55 pm had already boarded passengers. Just as the aircraft was taxiing toward the runway, the pilot noticed a technical issue and stopped the plane. Upon inspection, a fuel leak was confirmed in the aircraft.
The pilot immediately informed ground staff and airline officials, following which all passengers were safely deplaned. After approximately four hours of trying to fix the leak, the passengers were finally sent to Mumbai on an alternative flight at 11:35 pm.
The airline and its technical crew at Jaipur airport are trying to determine the cause of the leakage.
