Jaipur Ranked 5th Best City in the World
July 22, 2025 – Jaipur has been ranked as the fifth best city in the world. This prestigious rating was given by Travel+Leisure magazine through a reader’s survey and voting conducted this year. Jaipur was ranked fifth among the top five cities in the world worth visiting along with Mexico’s San Miguel de Allende, Chiang Mai, Tokyo and Bangkok.
Jaipur achieved a score of 91.33 in the survey based on the following aspects:
- Cultural Experiences - Folk art
- Rajasthani Cuisine
- Unforgettable Travel Experiences
- World-class Shopping
- Friendly Locals
- Hotels offering luxurious stays
The city’s royal hotels, rich culture, enchanting ambience, local cuisine and shopping were what pushed it above another top tourist-favourite Florence (Italy) which was ranked 11th with a score of 90.08.

Popularly known as the Pink City, Jaipur is home to three UNESCO World Heritage sites – Jaipur city, Jantar Mantar and Amber Fort. It stands out for its unique pink architecture and historic urban layout.
The Travel+Leisure World’s Best Awards Survey is done on several factors including cultural experiences, landmarks, food and ambience.
"Happy with the ranking,” said Rajasthan Tourism minister Diya Kumari who added that this was a matter of pride not just for Rajasthan but for the entire country.
