Jeep safari will resume in Jaisamand Sanctuary starting October 1, 2024. The Forest Department has already started preparations for this, including repairs to the track now that the rainy season is ending. The sanctuary is located along the Udaipur-Banswara highway, making it easily accessible for those looking to experience the rich biodiversity and natural beauty of the region.

Safari Timings

Safaris in Jaisamand will be conducted in two shifts: from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM and from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Jeep safaris are closed from July 1 to September 30 every year across all sanctuaries and tiger reserves in the state due to the monsoon. They will reopen on October 1, 2024. Currently, five vehicles are used for safaris in Jaisamand, with tickets priced at Rs 649/- per person.

Roothi Rani Ka Mahal

A new 2.5-kilometer track has been developed from Jaisamand Pal to the historic Roothi Rani Mahal, providing easier access for tourists to this stunning site.

In addition to this, jeep safaris within the Jaisamand Wildlife Sanctuary were introduced in May last year. These safaris offer a  way to explore the sanctuary, which have two distinct tracks measuring 14 kilometers and 22 kilometers, respectively.

Animals to Spot During Safari

During the safari, visitors can see various wildlife species such as leopards, chinkaras, spotted deer (cheetal), wild boars, bears, blue bulls (nilgai), peacocks, and monkeys. The chinkara population has notably increased in the sanctuary. The Forest Department has developed 400 hectares of grasslands to support this growth. The sanctuary now hosts 40 spotted deer, 20 sambars, 160 blue bulls, and 9 chinkaras. To boost wildlife tourism, the safari is also being actively marketed.
