Jaisamand Lake Set for Floral and Lighting Makeover

Jaisamand set for beautification on the lines of Udaipur’s Phoolon ki Ghaati; eco-trail, selfie points, lighting and heritage restoration planned

 |

Udaipur, Dec 29, 2025 - The embankment of Jaisamand Lake, the largest lake in the Udaipur division, and the road from Jaisamand bus stand to the embankment will be developed on the lines of Udaipur’s Phoolon ki Ghaati located in Chirwa. Under this plan, flowering plants will be planted on both sides of the road from the bus stand to the embankment.

To enhance tourist attraction, selfie points will be developed along the lake. Additionally, an eco-trail of approximately 3 kilometres will be constructed from the lake to Roothi Rani ka Mahal, enabling easier vehicle access to the palace. The road leading to Hawa Mahal will also be repaired.

Renovation of toilets will be undertaken, and the canopies located on the embankment will be repainted and fitted with theme-based lighting.

The district administration has allocated a budget of Rs 1 crore from DMFT funds for the project.

Since Roothi Rani ka Mahal and Hawa Mahal are classified as heritage structures, their restoration work will be carried out by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
