The North Western Railway (NWR) has announced that Rajasthan is set to welcome its second Vande Bharat Express, connecting Jodhpur and Ahmedabad (Sabarmati). Commencing operations from 9 July 2023, this high-speed train will provide service on six days of the week, excluding Tuesdays. Passengers can look forward to a convenient schedule with departures on every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The virtual presence of esteemed personalities such as Governor Kalraj Mishra and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will add grandeur to the event. However, the physical presence at the Jodhpur railway station will be observed by Union Minister for Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Sekhawat and Rajendra Gehlot, a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha.

The scheduled departure of the train, numbered as 12461, the Jodhpur-Ahmedabad (Sabarmati) Vande Bharat Express, is set for 5:55 am from the Jodhpur railway station. It is expected to arrive at its destination, Ahmedabad (Sabarmati), at 12:05 pm. Similarly, the train numbered as 12462, the Ahmedabad (Sabarmati)-Jodhpur Vande Bharat Express, will depart from Ahmedabad (Sabarmati) at 4:45 pm and reach Jodhpur at 10:55 pm.

During the journey, these Vande Bharat Express trains will make stops at eight different railway stations. The stations where the train will halt include Bhagat ki Kothi, Pali, Marwar Junction, Falna, Jawai Bandh, Abu Road, Palanpur, and Mehsana railway stations. These halts provide convenient boarding and alighting points for passengers traveling to or from these locations.

The Vande Bharat Express on the Jodhpur-Ahmedabad (Sabarmati) route will consist of a total of eight coaches. Among these coaches, there will be seven AC chair cars and one AC executive chair car coach, providing a comfortable and luxurious travel experience to passengers.

One of the significant advantages of this train is its ability to reduce the overall travel time. Compared to conventional trains, the Vande Bharat Express will save passengers approximately 1.5 hours of travel time, making their journey more efficient and time-effective. This reduction in travel time is made possible by the train's advanced design and modern features, enabling it to attain higher speeds and deliver a quicker transportation experience.
