Khajuraho–Udaipur Exp Jaipur Timing Changed to Offer Better Connectivity
Railways revise Jaipur arrival time of Khajuraho–Udaipur Express and Shakur Basti–Jaisalmer Express after initiative by Governor Gulab Chand Kataria; change to improve train connectivity for Rajasthan and Bundelkhand passengers
Udaipur, March 6, 2026 - Following an initiative by Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh, the Ministry of Railways (India) has revised the timing of two major trains at Jaipur Junction railway station.
This change will provide passengers with better connectivity and sufficient time to switch trains in Jaipur.
Earlier, train number 19665 (Khajuraho-Udaipur City Express) and train number 12249 (Shakur Basti–Jaisalmer Express) used to arrive at Jaipur around the same time. This caused difficulties for passengers — especially soldiers and travellers headed towards the Bundelkhand region — who needed to change trains.
According to the revised schedule issued by the Railways:
- Shakur Basti–Jaisalmer Express will now arrive at Jaipur Junction at 10:50 pm and depart at 11:00 pm.
- Khajuraho–Udaipur City Express will reach Jaipur 10 minutes earlier than its previous scheduled time.
Governor Gulab Chand Kataria had earlier met Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to discuss the issue faced by passengers.
Travellers from cities such as Gwalior, Agra, Morena, Dholpur and the Bundelkhand region will benefit from the revised schedule. It will particularly help soldiers posted in border areas of western Rajasthan, making train transfers at Jaipur much easier.
