Lake Pichola overflows

The wait is over. The time when the city rushes to the lakes to just stand and watch the water flow over is back. Continuous rains ensured that Lake Pichola got filled today and water starting flowing over.

The overflow of Pichola happens at the Swaroop Sagar end. Today morning at around 10:30am, water flowing into Pichola from Sisarma exceeded the maximum holding capacity of the lake at 11 feet and started flowing over.

In the meanwhile, Lake Fateh Sagar is also receiving good water supply and is touching the 11 feet mark. With the overflow of Lake Pichola accomplished, the city now awaits the pretties of all overflows, Fatehsagar.

Water is currently only flowing from the sides of the gates and the gates are yet to be opened. Overflowing water is now flowing into Ayad river flowing through the newly worked up river bed along Gumaniya.
