In light of the soaring demand for train travel, especially from Udaipur, railway authorities are urged to consider initiating special train services to accommodate passengers during the upcoming holidays and festivals.
Many trains arriving in Udaipur are witnessing waiting lists stretching up to one and a half months in advance. This surge in demand has led to concerns among travellers, prompting calls for additional services to alleviate the strain.
Long-distance trains departing from Udaipur are particularly affected, with popular trains like Ananya, Kamakhya, Humsafar, Chetak, Bandra, Haridwar, Mewar, and Khajuraho experiencing extended waiting lists.
The situation is exacerbated by the summer holiday season, with many individuals either returning home or embarking on leisure trips. As a result, waiting lists continue to grow steadily, posing challenges for passengers seeking to secure bookings.
While some trains have limited availability of seats, they often do not align with travelers' preferences regarding coaches, further complicating the booking process.
Authorities stress the necessity of special train services, especially for routes to destinations like Bandra, Haridwar, Ananya, and New Jalpaiguri, during peak travel periods. Such additional services not only address the immediate demand but also contribute to the revenue of the railways while ensuring affordable and convenient travel for passengers.
In response to these concerns, railway authorities are urged to assess the feasibility of introducing special train services to meet the growing demand and provide much-needed relief to travelers from Udaipur and beyond.
