Unprecedented rush for long-distance trains keep travellers on waiting lists extending up to almost 30-45 days
Udaipur, February 7, 2025 – Long--distance train travellers going from Udaipur to cities like Mumbai, Delhi, etc., are being forced to wait for ticket confirmation as long waiting lists are becoming an ordeal for them. This is because of the wedding and festival season which is causing the rush for tickets. Most of the long-distance trains from Udaipur, including Bandra, Chetak, Mewar, Ananya, Humsafar, Asarwa, etc., have waiting lists extending up to almost 30-45 days.
As per reports, the Udaipur-Bandra No. 22902, which runs thrice a week, has a waiting list in all classes until March 9. The Bandra-Udaipur No. 22901 has a waiting list until March 15. The Kolkata-Udaipur Ananya Express No. 12315 shows waiting and RAC up to March 20. The Udaipur-Kolkata No. 12316 has waiting and RAC until March 24. The Chetak Express No. 20474 from Udaipur City to Delhi Sarai Rohilla has a waiting list until February 26, while the Chetak Express No. 20473 from Delhi Sarai Rohilla to Udaipur City has a waiting list until February 18. The Mewar Express No. 12963 running from Nizamuddin to Udaipur City has a waiting list until February 22, and No. 12964 from Udaipur City to Nizamuddin has a waiting list until February 23.
Waiting lists are also there for other trains such as Udaipur-Khajuraho-Udaipur, Indore-Asarwa-Indore, and Udaipur-New Jalpaiguri-Udaipur, among others. Some of these trains have seats available on certain days, but these are also fast running out.
Travellers need to plan their holidays or travel dates in advance in order to avoid disappointment.
