The cancellation of the Mewar Express by the railway administration has led to significant confusion and inconvenience for passengers. The Mewar Express is a crucial train for travellers to and from Udaipur, but despite its cancellation, online ticket bookings continued, leading to widespread frustration.

On August 27, the railway authorities announced that non-interlocking work was being conducted at Palwal station in the Northern Delhi division. Due to this, train number 12963, Nizamuddin-Udaipur City, was scheduled to be cancelled from September 6 to 17. Similarly, train number 12964, Udaipur City-Nizamuddin, was to be cancelled from September 5 to 16, 2024.

Passengers were informed of the cancellation through messages the next day. In response, many people hurried to the railway station to confirm the news and cancelled their confirmed tickets. They then made alternative travel arrangements to reach their destinations.

However, just three days later, online ticket bookings resumed for the cancelled dates of the Mewar Express. This sudden change left many passengers, who had previously cancelled their confirmed tickets, feeling deceived and frustrated. They felt tricked into cancelling their bookings.

By Monday, the Mewar Express was again removed from the online portal for the cancelled dates. Passengers who had rebooked their tickets during the brief period when booking was open found themselves in a state of confusion and uncertainty.

The repeated changes in the booking status have caused significant disruption and stress for passengers, highlighting the need for better communication and management by the railway authorities.
